DOHA: Preparations are underway at the Qatar Squash Federation (QSF) to host the prestigious Qatar Classic Squash 2015 (men and women) which will start from October 29 at the Khalifa International Squash Complex.
The preliminary rounds of the prestigious event will kick off on 29 and 30 of October meanwhile the main rounds will begin on 31 October until November 6.
"We're very pleased to welcome the best squash players in the world to Doha once again for what promises to be a fantastic tournament, building on the success of last year's astounding World Championship, and to welcome the best female players back to Doha for the first time since 2011," said Qatar Squash Federation president Nabeel Bin Ali.
"Qatar continues to grow as a squash nation year-on-year and we are delighted to continue our support of the PSA World Tour for another year in what is a brand new era of joint-governance for the sport."
The joint-event will bring over 100 of the world’s finest squash practitioners to Doha for a jam-packed week that will see over 100 matches played out over six days to the delight of the tournament organisers.
The Organizers have allocated $150,000 prize money for men and $95,000 for women.
The tournament is an annual fixture on the Professional Squash Association (PSA) calendar and has been drawing almost all top players. It is one of the nine events of the top-tier PSA World Series.
