Doha, Qatar: The Amir His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HE Lawrence Wong, Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of the friendly Republic of Singapore, held an official meeting at the Amiri Diwan on Monday, October 19, 2026.
At the beginning of the meeting, His Highness the Amir welcomed the Singaporean Prime Minister and his accompanying delegation, wishing them a pleasant stay and expressing his hope that the visit would contribute to strengthening cooperation and partnership between Qatar and Singapore, and propelling it to broader horizons in a way that serves the interests of both friendly nations.
For his part, the Singaporean Prime Minister expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Highness the Amir for the warm welcome and generous hospitality extended to him and his delegation, and expressed his hope that the visit would elevate Qatari-Singaporean relations to the highest levels.
During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and ways to enhance them in various fields, particularly economic and investment sectors, in addition to discussing key regional and international issues of common interest.
His Highness the Amir and the Singaporean Prime Minister also held a bilateral meeting during which they exchanged views on a number of current developments.
The Amir and the Prime Minister also witnessed the signing of the minutes of the meeting of the Joint Higher Committee between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Singapore, and the exchange of documents announcing the renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding on Liquefied Natural Gas and Cooperation in Carbon Reduction Technology between Qatar Energy and the Singapore Ministry of Trade and Industry.
The session and signing were attended by HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, HE Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Khulaifi, Chief of the Amiri Diwan, and a number of Their Excellencies the Ministers.
From the Singaporean side, the session was attended by HE Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, HE Zhulkarnain Abdul Rahim, Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Interior, and a number of senior officials from the accompanying delegation.
Following the session, His Highness the Amir hosted a luncheon in honor of the Prime Minister of Singapore and his accompanying delegation.
The Prime Minister of Singapore had arrived at the Amiri Diwan earlier, where he was accorded an official reception.
