KABUL: Ten Taliban militants were killed in joint operations launched by Afghan security forces and the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan during the past twenty-four hours in different regions of the country.
Afghanistan’s Interior Ministry said that joint operations in different regions of the country led to the arrest of three others.
The statement added that large quantities of heavy and light weapons were seized during the operations but did not say if there were any casualties on the security forces.
Two killed in blast
KANDAHAR: Two civilians were killed and a third injured yesterday in a bomb blast in the state of Kandahar in southern Afghanistan.
A spokesman for the provincial governor Jawed Faisal said a man and his son were killed and another was injured by the explosion of a roadside explosive device in the state of Arghistan which targeted their truck.
No immediate claim of responsibility made.
