DOHA: Qatar Airways (QA) will expand its flights to Istanbul Sabiha Gِkçen Airport from March 29 next year with an additional daily service.
With the launch of the new service, passengers from the Middle East, Asia Pacific, the Americas and Africa can benefit from an additional morning connection to Istanbul via Doha. The new flight, operated by a two-class, Airbus A320 aircraft, will leave Doha at 0945 hrs, arriving in Sabiha Gِkçen Airport at 1400 hrs. It will leave Sabiha Gِkçen Airport at 1500 hrs and arrive in Doha at 1855 hrs.
QA recently celebrated its 10 years of successful operations to Turkey.
The airline operates to three destinations in Turkey – Istanbul Sabiha Gِkçen Airport (daily flights), Istanbul Ataturk Airport (10-flights-a-week) and Ankara (four-weekly-flights).
“QA’s service to Istanbul Sabiha Gِkçen Airport has enjoyed exceptional popularity since its launch earlier this year,” said QA Group Chief Executive, Akbar Al Baker. “The start of a double daily service from March will further strengthen our support for leisure and business travel to Istanbul and we are certain that our passengers will welcome the initiative,” he added. The Doha-Istanbul Sabiha Gِkçen Airport route is operated by an Airbus A320, featuring 12 seats in Business Class and up to 132 in Economy. Selected A320s feature seatback TV screens providing all passengers in both cabins with the next generation interactive on board entertainment system – a choice of more than 900 audio and video on demand options.
