Paris: The French government voiced confidence in IMF head Christine Lagarde after she was found guilty Monday of negligence over a massive payout to a tycoon in 2008.
"Christine Lagarde is carrying out her mandate at the IMF successfully and the government retains its utmost confidence in her capacity to carry out her responsibilities," the economy and finance ministries said in a statement.
