Doha: Attorney General H E Dr Ali bin Fetais Al Marri yesterday met Anne Grillo, Director of Cultural, Scientific and University Cooperation at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Talks during the meeting dealt with ways of cooperation in the Francophone area, and relations between the two countries.
The attorney general briefed the French official on the nature of Qatar’s judicial system and the separation of powers in the state.
Grillo later visited Katara, where Katara Director General Dr Khalid Ibrahim Al Sulaiti provided the French delegation a detailed explanation of Katara’s facilities, heritage festivals and other activities organised throughout the year.
The French official was briefed on Katara’s objectives of activating and supporting cultural activities and its contribution to the promotion of cultural innovation.
The French official hailed the village as a great achievement worthy of recognition as it provides common ground for innovators and intellectuals from all over the world.
