Doha: The Centre of Empowerment and Elderly Care ‘Ehsan,’ one of the Qatar Foundation for Social Work centres of the Ministry of Social Development and Family, signed a memorandum of cooperation (MoC) with Al Majd Girls Centre of the Ministry of Sports and Youth.
The signing of the MoC stems from the leading role of Ehsan centre in promoting the recognition of the elderly and their contributions to social, economic, and cultural development, empowering and supporting their participation in all fields. Ehsan centre also works on spreading social awareness of elderly rights and their main issues, maintaining communication through generations, and emphasising the family’s role in caring for them.
Through this MoC, the two centres seek to strengthen the bonds of cooperation between them, provide adequate service to the elderly in the best way possible, and continue the joint efforts between the two sides.
Executive Director of Ehsan, Fahad Mohammed Al Khayarin, said that the centre pays excellent attention to conducting partnerships and strengthening the cooperation with all parties in the country, based on its belief that these partnerships benefit the target groups and expand the scope of its services and objectives to the largest segment of society.
He added that the MoC serves the elderly, especially elder mothers, by benefiting from programmes and events provided by the centre for the target group. The MoC also supports one of the centre’s main strategic objectives, which is to achieve communication between generations and create a qualitative partnership.
For her part, Director of Al Majd Girls Centre Haya Al Kubaisi said that the signing of the MoC strengthens the joint cooperation between the two sides, especially since Al Majd Girls Centre aspires to benefit from the experiences of the elderly members of the centre in instilling values, customs and traditions.
