QIIC members during National Sport Day activities.
Doha: Qatar Indian Islahi Centre (QIIC) has organised a full-day sports activities for its members and the members of its subordinate groups, CIS, GYM, MGM and LYC turning the weekend eventful with competitions within. It was held in line with National Sport Day of Qatar.
Football, volleyball and badminton matches were held for teams having names of Qatar stadiums. Tug-of-war and push-up were also competed between the teams, as Khaleefa captured first place bagging the highest 33 points and the overall championship trophy. While Thumama settled second position scoring 30 points, 974 cleared third position. Lusail and Januob also played well and finished next.
In the subordinate section CIS for kids and children were held. MGM’s ladies teams vigorously contested at QIIC headquarters, Luqta.
They made their day in items like candle lighting, balloon snatching, pyramid making, nuts gathering, three legged jumping, and it was held in Junior, Sub Junior and Senior divisions. The march past guard of honour and contestants introductions were attended by senior leadership of QIIC and MGM in their respective venues. The winners were presented with gifts, certificates and accreditations.
The occasion was also a coming together of Islahi members scattered in the vastness of Qatar. QIIC is one of the oldest expatriate organisations active in Qatar since 1980.
