DOHA: ACS Doha International School, in compliance with Supreme Education Council (SEC), has been granted approval to join the list of accredited Educational Voucher Schools. The school has 43 Qatari students using the Educational Voucher System.
“We are proud to be associated with the system, which provides Qatari children with the opportunity to access the highest quality schools.  Students attending ACS Doha will receive an international education in their home country and at a school committed to the growth and development of each and every child.
“The scheme is especially helpful for parents who were unable to afford private schooling and can now receive financial assistance from the government,” said Diane Hren, head of School.
SEC has developed criteria to evaluate candidate schools and ensure they meet a certain level of quality standards.
Schools must meet two key conditions to qualify: Obtaining candidacy for National School Accreditation and completing the first two parts of a self-study, approved by Evaluation Institute.
The system covers three broad groups of families; those in the public and private sectors, unemployed and retired. Each sector has an authority that will be responsible for funding vouchers up to a maximum of QR28,000. For the private sector and those unemployed, SEC will bear voucher costs. The process is simple for parents who wish to apply as they can approach the school for the registration certificate and present it to the HR Department or authorities responsible for ensuring the vouchers are provided.
