Islamabad: Pakistan’s Interior Minister Chaudary Nisar Ali Khan met yesterday with his Bahraini counterpart Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa , who is currently visiting Islamabad as part of the delegation accompanying King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain.
During the meeting, they discussed ways of developing areas of cooperation and security coordination during the next phase as well as a number of topics and security issues of common interest in addition to developments on the regional arena.
18 Taliban die in military raids
Kabul: At least 18 Taliban militants were killed and seven others were injured during military operations by Afghan national police (ANP) forces during the past 24 hours, interior ministry said yesterday.
The operations were conducted with the cooperation of Afghan national army (ANA) and Afghan intelligence – National Directorate of Security (NDS).
At least five Taliban militants were also arrested during the same operations which were conducted in Kunar, Kunduz, Kandahar, Zabul, Maidan Wardak, Logar, Ghazni, Paktiya, Farah and Helmand provinces of Afghanistan, according to the Afghan (Khaama Press).
According to a statement released by interior ministry, Afghan national security forces also seized light and heavy weapons during the operations.
