ISLAMABAD: Water and Power Minister Khawaja Asif said on Monday that Pakistan and China were ushering in a new era in the fields of energy and development.

Speaking exclusively to Geo News, Khawaja Asif added the countries had achieved a new milestone in their relations. The minister further said Pakistan and China had signed agreements worth $20 billion.

“These agreements are a huge step towards our promise of eliminating the energy crisis,” Khawaja Asif said.

Earlier Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Pakistan in what is being termed as a historic visit. A $45 billion investment plan will also be unveiled during the visit of the Chinese president which can help Pakistan end its chronic energy crisis and transform it into a regional economic hub.
