Ankara: Eleven PKK militants were killed in a Turkish Air Force strike on targets in the southeastern province of Sirnak on Wednesday, the Turkish military said.

According to a statement issued by the Turkish army, the air raid was launched after receiving intelligence information.

Two weapon emplacements and a cave were destroyed, the statement said. A land operation is ongoing, Anadolu Agency (AA) reported.

The security forces and the Turkish army have consistently targeted PKK sites and pursued its elements in the south and southeast of the country in response to terrorist attacks carried out inside Turkey from time to time, targeting civilians and security personnel.
