Istanbul: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Thursday said he would meet new US leader Donald Trump for the first time as head of state in mid-May in the United States.

"The date has been fixed," Erdogan told A News in an interview, saying the trip would be after he concludes a visit to China on May 15. "I will be travelling to China and after China I will be travelling to the United States," he said.
