DOHA: A renowned line up of international and local real estate developers have confirmed their attendance at Cityscape Qatar, giving a strong indication that the 2014 event will attract its highest number of visitors.
Deep Marwaha, Group Director for Cityscape Qatar, said that the combination of strong economic projections for the sector and a unique gathering of all the major players under one roof are attracting record numbers of exhibitors.
“We have already registered a 20 percent increase in participants compared to last year and with a few weeks to go, this figure should rise. Furthermore, there is a 10 percent increase in countries being represented. In fact over half of all exhibitors will be travelling from abroad, some as far as the USA, UK and Uruguay. All are drawn by the exciting opportunities that Qatar’s real estate sector offers, and the chance to meet with the country’s flagship developers who are also exhibiting”, he added.
One of the factors driving early interest is the presence of Qatar’s high profile real estate development firms, including Ezdan Holding, Barwa Real Estate, Msheireb Properties, and United Development Company (UDC).
Ali Mohammed Al Obaidli, CEO of Ezdan Holding Group, that owns more than 18,300 diverse real estate units in Doha, Al Wakra and other locations across Qatar, said: “Our beloved country is witnessing an era of unrivalled development and renaissance in all sectors, especially the real estate. Our participation in Cityscape Qatar is a simple expression, indicating the prestigious position Ezdan has realised as well as an opportunity to exchange ideas with other parties to achieve mutual benefit.”
Al Obaidli added that Ezdan Holding Group is keen to take part in all business events and activities that contribute in reinforcing the Qatari economy at all levels, pointing out that the Group was keen to participate in this exhibition as Foundation Sponsor through a significant showcase stand. The Group believes in the fact that Cityscape is a unique display platform in which all business sectors meet, providing a good opportunity to those interested in real estate investment as well as other sectors, to be in touch with the successful experience of Ezdan Holding Group and learn more from it.
Badr Al Meer, Acting CEO of UDC, the master developer of The Pearl-Qatar Island,  said: “Having participated in Cityscape for many years, we are looking forward to this year’s Cityscape in Qatar, a perfect platform for us to connect with the visitors and potential investors by sharing with them The Pearl-Qatar’s story and its unique residential offerings.”
Shem Krey, Deputy Managing Director for Mall of Qatar, said: “We are excited to be participating in Cityscape Qatar again this year. Visitors will be able to see how we plan on delivering an integrated shopping, dining and entertainment facility with high-end luxury and an exceptional retail mix.”
Running alongside the exhibition, the Qatar Real Estate Summit will feature presentations and panel discussions from some of the industry’s foremost thought-leaders, allowing delegates to debate and discuss the most relevant and current issues. Cityscape Qatar opens its door on Monday 2nd June, at the Qatar National Convention Center.
