QFCHT sheds light on forced labour

Doha: Qatar Foundation for Combating Human Trafficking (QFCHT) yesterday held an awareness lecture for about 350 workers on “forced labour in light of Qatari national law on combating human trafficking, at the Workers Health Centre in Industrial Area. 

The lecture was delivered by  legal expert at QFCHT Dr Mahmoud Said, who tackled a number of topics, including the national and international legislative framework on combating the exploitation of workers in forced labour, saying most cases of human trafficking in the world take the form of  the forced labour, according to the International Labour Organisation estimates.

He pointed to the criminalisation of Qatari legislation to this criminal pattern in accordance with Article II of the Anti-Human Trafficking Law No. 15 of 2011.  QNA
