Doha, Qatar: A UK man who had stolen over 200,000 Cadbury Creme Eggs was handed an 18 month jail sentence.

According to BBC, Joby Pool was found in possession of what looked like a “mountain of the foil-wrapped chocolate” when the police had found him.

32 year-old Poole used a stolen lorry with false plates to hijack a trailer filled with the cream-filled chocolate eggs in an industrial area in Shorpshire, England.

"The eggs-travagent theft took place on Saturday 11 February with the chocolate collection box thought to be worth around £40,000. Along with the Creme Eggs a number of other chocolate varieties were also stolen,” West Mercia police posted on their social media page.

The trailer contained about £31,000 worth of Cadbury eggs, which roughly translates to $40,000.

He was apprehended at a motorway, where the police exclaimed that they been hunting someone who purported to be the Easter bunny, and that they had “saved Easter.”

BBC reported that Poole, after the police had pounced on him on the highway, simply walked out of the vehicle and walked towards the officers with his hands up.

Poole pleaded guilty to criminal damage and theft charges on Tuesday.
