The Bangladesh community and the Embassy of Bangladesh in Qatar had arranged a discussion meeting on the life and works of the Father of the Nation of Bangladesh Sheikh Mujibur Rahman as a part of the observance of the National Mourning Day and the 39th death anniversary of Sheikh Mujibur at the Embassy premises recently.
During the discussion meeting, the Bangladesh community members highlighted the contribution of Sheikh Mujibur in the national life of Bangladesh. They urged all to work whole heartedly to fulfill his dream of a prosperous Bangladesh. They also emphasized on the need for educating the younger generation about the life and works of Bangabandhu.
Bangladesh Ambassador Syed Masud Mahmood Khundoker participated in the discussion as the chief guest. He recalled the epic role played by Sheikh Mujibur in Bangladesh’s emergence as an independent country. He thanked the expatriate Bangladesh in Qatar for their hard labour and contribution to the nation building towards fulfilling the dream of Sheikh Mujibur and for demonstration of unity, fraternity, liberal and moderate attitude.
Other Embassy officials also spoke on the invaluable role of Sheikh Mujibur in Bangladesh’s emergence as a sovereign country. A documentary on the life and works of Sheikh Mujibur was also screened during the event.
