Dahlan re-elected as IAAF Vice-President

Qatar’s Dahlan Al Hamad was re-elected as International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) Vice-President for a new four-year term. Al Hamad was re-elected at the 50th IAAF Congress which was held in Beijing, yesterday, on the sidelines of the IAAF World Championships due to kick off in Beijing next Saturday. Nine candidates competed for the four vice-president positions. The voting was as follows: Ukraine’s Sergey Bubka 187 votes, Qatar’s Dahlan Al Hamad 159 votes, Cameroon’s Hamad Kalkaba Malboum 115 votes, and Cuba’s Alberto Juantorena Danger 111 votes. Al Hamad is President of Qatar Athletics Federation (QAF) as well as President of the Asian Athletics Association (AAA). He has been a Council Member of IAAF since 2003 and Vice President since 2007.
