Doha, Qatar:  Hamad Medical Corporation’s (HMC) Home Health Care Services (HHCS) has achieved reaccreditation from Joint Commission International (JCI) for the sixth consecutive cycle. 

The reaccreditation, awarded following a comprehensive survey in May 2025 under the latest Edition of the JCI Accreditation Standards for Home Care, reflects HMC’s sustained excellence in delivering safe, high-quality, and person-centered care to patients in the comfort of their homes, in line with international best practices.

This milestone reaffirms HMC’s ongoing commitment to delivering specialized medical care within the framework of the hospital-at-home model, which ensures that patients receive advances healthcare services while preserving dignity, autonomy and family-centred values. 

HMC’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Khalid Mohammed Al Jalham, said, “This reaccreditation from Joint Commission International reaffirms the outstanding quality and safety of our Home Health Care Services, which play a vital role in bringing specialist, hospital-level care directly into patients’ homes. It reflects HMC’s commitment to delivering innovative care that improves outcomes, reduces hospital dependency and supports the wellbeing of patients and families across Qatar.” 

Deputy Chief Medical Officer for Long-Term Care, Rehabilitation and Geriatrics, and Lead of Corporate Rehabilitation Therapy Services and Home Health Care Services at HMC, Dr. Hanadi Al Hamad said, “The reaccreditation of HHCS by JCI for the sixth time reflects a powerful synergy between clinical excellence, compassionate delivery, and health system innovation. This service exemplifies how we can safely shift complex care into the community while preserving the highest standards of quality, functionality, and person-centered care. Our teams go beyond routine care - they deliver hope, dignity and empowerment, right into patients’ homes. 

HHCS was first accredited by JCI in 2009 and continues to develop its services for hundreds of patients across Qatar, including those with chronic and complex medical conditions. Services also include advanced wound management, long-term oxygen therapy and palliative care - all delivered by expert teams of physicians, nurses and allied health professionals. 

The programme has demonstrated improved clinical outcomes, reduced readmissions, preventing complications, and enhancing patient satisfaction and wellbeing.
