Doha: The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) has launched the Legal Trainer Preparation Programme (Training of Trainers – TOT), a specialised initiative aimed at preparing qualified Qatari professionals to deliver high-quality legal training and establishing a sustainable pool of certified legal trainers within the ministry.
Organised by the Center for Legal and Judicial Studies, the country’s primary institution for legal training, the programme seeks to build a cadre of trainers capable of performing training duties in line with modern, internationally recognised methods and best practices.
According to the ministry’s announcement yesterday, the programme is designed exclusively for Qatari nationals and forms part of broader efforts to enhance the quality of legal education and professional development across the sector. Successful participants will receive certification as accredited legal trainers from the Center for Legal and Judicial Studies.
Eligibility requirements include holding a bachelor’s degree in law from a recognised university (with equivalency for degrees obtained abroad), a minimum of seven years of practical legal experience, and being no older than 45 years at the close of nominations. Candidates must not already be listed among the centre’s accredited trainers. Nomination must come from the applicant’s employer via an official letter confirming the entity’s commitment to release the participant for the full duration of the programme. Applicants are also required to submit all necessary documents and successfully pass a personal interview conducted by a selection committee.
Registration is open through the submission of an official nomination letter from the relevant government entity, addressed to the Center for Legal and Judicial Studies and submitted via the government correspondence system. The letter must include the nominee’s contact details and the required supporting documents. The final deadline for receiving nominations is Thursday, September 10, 2026.
Seats are limited, with priority given to early registrations. The programme is restricted to Qatari citizens only. The launch marks a significant step in the Ministry of Justice’s ongoing commitment to developing national legal expertise and strengthening the institutional capacity of legal training in Qatar.
