Military plane crash injures two in Quetta

QUETTA: A Pakistan army aircraft crashed in the southwestern city of Quetta yesterday injuring two pilots, the military said.
“Two pilots were wounded after their MFI-17 Mushshak aircraft-fixed gear trainer aircraft, crashed near the hills of Ziarat, about 40 kilometres east of Quetta yesterday morning”, a military official said.
The incident was confirmed by another military official who said the crash was a result of technical fault.
“The wounded pilots were transported to Quetta for treatment. They are in stable condition,” he said.
The Pakistan army uses Mushshak aircraft to train pilots in its aviation wing.
Military raids kill 35 rebels
Kabul: At least 35 Taliban militants were killed and 25 others were injured during military operations by Afghan national security forces in the past 24 hours.
The Ministry of Interior following a statement said, “In past 24 hours, Afghan National Police conducted several anti-terrorism joint operations with Afghan National Army and NDS to clean some of the areas from terrorists and enemies of peace and stability of Afghanistan,” Khaama Press (KP) reported.
The statement further added that the operations were conducted in Kabul, Nangarhar, Baghlan, Kunduz, Zabul, Uruzgan, Maidan Wardak, Khost and Helmand provinces.
At least four militants were also arrested and confiscated various types of weapons by Afghan National Security Forces during the same operations.
Curfew imposed in Khyber district
Islamabad:  Authorities in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa district on Friday extended its curfew to the Mingora City and its suburbs following killing of two peace committee members in Kabal tehsil, according to Khyber News website.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s security forces have already imposed curfew in Kabal and Kanju areas of Swat district.
The Mingora bazaar, government offices and education institutions remained closed while the residents were restricted to their homes.
In Mingora, the security forces have started house-to-house search operation.
