Qatar Natural History Group meeting on Oct 1

DOHA: Qatar Natural History Group (QNHG) will hold its monthly meeting at the Doha English Speaking School on October 1 at 7 pm.
Simon Wilson, Technical Director, Five Oceans, Environmental Services, Oman will speak on ‘The Value and Ecological Function of Mangroves in Qatar’ at the meeting.
It will be an introduction to the biology, ecology and value of mangroves in the tropics, which will be compared with mangroves in the Gulf, specifically Qatar, where mangroves are at the limit of their global distribution.
Simon will also talk about the work of Five Oceans on the mangrove restoration project for the new port project in Qatar
New members are welcome to join QNHG at the meeting. Membership facilitates participation in archaeological and geological field trips.
