Qatari–European business ties reviewed

DOHA: A meeting held at Qatar Chamber (QC) headquarters yesterday discussed relations of the economic cooperation between businessmen Qatar and the EU countries and the means of organising a business conference bringing together businessmen on both sides on the sidelines of the workshop due to be hosted by Qatar in November. 
The meeting, which brought together the First Secretary for Trade and Economic Affairs of the Delegation of the European Union in Gulf Cooperation Council, Lucie Berger, and Qatar Chamber Vice Chairman, Mohammed bin Ahmed bin Tawar, discussed the good relations between Qatar and the European Union’s countries and Qatar’s economic boom. 
Meanwhile, Chairman of Qatar Chamber Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani, is taking part in the 24th Board of Directors meetings of the Islamic Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (ICCIA), which due kicked off in Turkey yesterday, QNA reproted 
The meeting will review the report of the ICCIA’s Committee on the Award of Excellence, the authorization of Halal Certificates as well as the follow up of the implementation of the resolutions taken over the General Assembly and ICCIA Board of Directors meetings held in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on 30-31 March 2016. 
The meeting will also discuss the formation of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC)’s Council of Arbitration in implementation of a Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation (COMCEC)’s recommendation along with ICCIA’ future activities and events.
