Khartoum: The 16th Sudanese-Ethiopian joint military committee concluded its talks in Khartoum at the level of chiefs of staff.

Following the closing session, Sudanese Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Emadeddine Mostafa Adawi, said the outcomes of the meeting will serve as a basis for the development of military cooperation between the two countries, highlighting the importance of securing the borders and working together to fight cross-border crimes.

The meetings agreed to a five-year plan that includes all areas of military protocol that was signed between the two countries in 2009.

For his part, Ethiopian Chief of Staff Samora Yunis reiterated his country's full commitment to what has been agreed upon as well as its readiness for mutual solidarity to secure the borders, fight anti-peace elements and limit the illegal practices that harm the security of both countries.
