26 die in Iran bus accident: report

TEHRAN: At least 26 people were killed when a bus overturned and crashed into a valley in southwest Iran, the Fars news agency reported on Saturday.
 
Fourteen passengers survived the accident that occurred Friday on a road in Khuzestan province, the agency said, adding that they were being treated in nearby hospitals.
 
Iran has one of the world's highest death rates from road accidents. Around 20,000 people die in traffic accidents every year. Iran, a country of 75 million people, has more than 17 million registered vehicles. (AFP)
