Drivers in action at the Qatar Racing Club (QRC) on Thursday. The QRC is technically the most advanced drag racing facility in the region.
The vision of QRC President Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Thani was to create the best drag facility in the Gulf region. Sheikh Khalid’s vision became a reality in February 2009 when QRC hosted its inaugural event to over 100 racers and a packed house of spectators from all over the globe. Racing events are staged every week in various categories. The QRC kicked off the new season with the first round of the 2012 Qatar National Street Drag Racing Championship last week. The Arabian Drag Racing Championship will commence in January 2013. Drifting, Qatar Mile and Freestyle Drifting are some of the other events organised by QRC.
