DOHA: The weather bureau has forecast that some parts of the country might witness scattered rains today. Rains may accompany thunder at times, added the bureau.
After a hot and scorching summer, the weather in Qatar is finally cooling down. The breezy weather, which attracted many to outdoor venues yesterday evening, is expected to be hazy with scattered clouds today. “We can expect rain from 10 am to 3pm in different areas,” an official from the meteorology department told The Peninsula, adding that strong winds are likely to accompany the rains. The official, however, said that it was not possible to predict which parts of the country would witness the rains.
“The clouds are constantly moving and changing their direction, which is why it is not possible for us to say where exactly it would rain,” the official told this newspaper. There are also chances of scattered rains in the Doha city, he added.
The heat would be least sizzling in Al Ruwais and Dukhan today compared to other parts of Qatar as the maximum day temperatures forecast for these areas by the meteorology department is 32 degrees Celsius. Minimum temperatures have been forecast for the entire country at between 24 and 27 degrees Celsius. The northeasterly to southeasterly winds would blow at speeds ranging from three to 12 knots an hour and they will reach 20 knots an hour when it rains with thunder. The weather is expected to be particularly pleasant after midday. With scattered rains marking the transition from summer to spring earlier this month, the weather in Qatar keeps getting better every day. In the Sea Line area, people have already put up tents to enjoy the brief period of spring in the deserts. The Peninsula
