DOHA: Sheikh Dr Khalid bin Thani bin Abdulla Al Thani, Chairman and Managing Director, QIIB, opened the bank’s new branch at Ezdan Mall in Al Gharafa yesterday.
The opening ceremony was attended by Abdulbasit Ahmed Al Shaibei, CEO, QIIB, members on the bank’s Board of Directors, senior executives and guests.
The opening of the new branch is the latest step taken by QIIB in executing its expansion strategy, which focus on the local market.
The branch at the mall is the fourth opened by QIIB since the beginning of this year.
After the formal opening of the branch, Sheikh Dr Khalid, Al Shaibei, members of QIIB Board of Directors and other senior executives toured the branch and viewed state-of-the-art facilities to serve customers.
Sheikh Dr Khalid said the opening of the bank’s new branch was in accordance with the bank’s strategy, which focus on the local market.
He said the strategy also lays emphasis on giving the best products and services to QIIB’s growing customer base.
The bank’s customers expect high level of service from a prominent bank like QIIB, which has been contributing to the growing Qatari economy for many years, he said.
QIIB’s new branch is on the ground floor of the mall, an iconic shopping destination in Qatar, that attracts thousands of shoppers on a daily basis.
The mall is home to outlets of reputable major local, regional and international brands, entertainment facilities and restaurants.
Al Shaibei said: “We are pleased today to open this branch in line with the bank’s desire to operate from the mall, one of the key shopping destinations for families in Qatar.
“We aim to serve a large segment of our clients, who visit the mall and take advantage of QIIB’s modern branch that operates seven days a week to a specific time schedule that goes well with the functioning of major malls,” he added.
