OIC urges opposition in Guinea to avoid unrest over elections results

The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Iyad Ameen Madani, commended the people of Guinea on their enthusiastic participation in the electoral process in the presidential election that took place on 11 October 2015.
Madani appealed and urged all the stakeholders, specially those who ran for elections, to avoid confrontation an actions that might lead to unrest in the country; and called on all the candidates, as statesmen, to always consider the higher interest of Guinea and to channel whatever demands they might have through legal and constitutional means. 
He finally reiterated the continuing support of the OIC to Guinea in its efforts to advance peace, democracy and development.
