Doha: QNB, the leading financial institution in the Middle East and North Africa, has announced its Platinum sponsorship of The 2015 World Federation of Exchanges (WFE) General Assembly & Annual Meeting, which is held under the patronage of H E Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohammad Al Thani, Minister of Economy and Commerce, and is being hosted by Qatar Stock Exchange from October 19 to 21 in Doha.
The event, which is being held for the first time in Qatar and the region, will be attended by heads from global exchanges and other representatives of member exchanges, regulatory agencies and authorities worldwide, as well as senior officials from the Ministry of Economy and Commerce and Qatar Exchange.
Key topics to be debated will include SME funding, progress on the G20 financial reform agenda, developments in derivative and commodity markets, evolving market structures and trends in risk management, compliance and governance. QNB’s sponsorship is part of its commitment to promoting financial excellence in Qatar and worldwide and in nurturing financial knowledge and expertise in Qatar, in order to propel new knowledge into Qatar’s economy, thus helping the growing state achieve its 2030 national vision. The General Assembly is the ultimate decision-making body of the WFE, responsible for approving policies, including admission and suspension of membership, annual budgets, and election of WFE officers.
