Doha: The President of Walking Football Asia and Qatar Farhan Al Sheikh Al Sayed recently held a walking football match which was attended by several ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions in Qatar.
Those present at the match included Ambassador of Tanzania H E Mahadhi Juma Maalim, Ambassador of Cuba H E Oscar Leon Gonzalez, Ambassador of Djibouti H E Dayib Doubad Robleh, Ambassador of El Salvador H E Milton Alcides Magana, Ambassador of Kenya H E Boniface Mwilu, Ambassador of Brunei H E Mohamed Bahrin, Ambassador of Senegal H E Dr. Habibou Diallo, former Ambassador of Guinea H E Lansine Ani Toure, Khalil Toure and Walking Football Qatar General Secretary Farouk Abdullahi Wase.
Ambassadors of Kenya and Djibouti emerged best players.
Al Sayed has constantly stressed his commitment on uniting all the communities under the umbrella of walking football. It is worth noting that the sport focuses on age categories 40+ 50+ 60+ and 70+.
Walking football is a tackle free and contact less concept and promotes healthy lifestyle among participant no matter the age.
