DOHA: The Ministry of Interior said yesterday that it had stopped manual applications for business work visas with introduction of a new electronic service recently. All applications must be online.
The Airport Passports Department at the Ministry has urged companies and establishments to use the new service and apply for business visas through Metrash2 and Ministry’s e-services website to simplify the procedures and save time and efforts.
The Department can now issue more than 2,500 business visas daily, it added.
The Ministry further said that currently working on a project to build an integrated electronic system for all services provided to citizens and expatriates.
The new online service has helped reduce the number of visitors to the service centres of the ministry and save time and efforts of officers and company representatives, said a ministry statement yesterday.
The Director of Airport Passports Department Muhammad Rashid Al Mazroui said that with the launch of the electronic service, visa applications can now be submitted any time on all days from anywhere. Earlier, it was possible only during office working hours on five working days a week.
He said that the Ministry is working to build an integrated electronic system for all services provided to citizens and expatriate.
Official and tourist visa services will also be launched on Metrash2 shortly. These services are currently provided for companies only.The Peninsula
