Berlin: Nasser Al Khater, the Executive Director, Communications and Marketing,  the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, has underlined that Qatar will organise “a safe World Cup in 2022”.
He also stressed that Qatar has made great achievements in the field of workers’ rights.
In an interview with the German weekly Bild Sport published today, Al Khater said: “We care about providing security and safety for all in the World Cup.
“We have no doubt that the security factors in the 2022 tournament will be impeccable,” he added.
He said Qatari laws are in line with international standards to provide clear rules to protect workers, “where there have been no other deaths and that their living conditions have improved considerably”.
Al Khater also pledged that Qatar will host a wonderful tournament that would exceed all expectations. He said the World Cup would be historically incorporated as it will allow fans, the media and officials to attend more than one match in one day in one place. QNA
