DOHA: Sidra Medical and Research Center (Sidra) will take part in three student career events.
Sidra’s participation aims to update the student community on its scholarship programme and training opportunities and encourage students to consider careers in the healthcare sector.
Sidra invites students to visit its booths at ‘Medicine Unlimited’ event organised by Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar (WCMC-Q) on Saturday, at the Open Day at Qatar University (QU) on November 27 and at University of Calgary Qatar (UCQ) Open Day on November 29.
The events will offer students an opportunity to learn about careers in medicine.
Participants will be invited to apply for the scholarship programme and an outreach team will be on hand to help address questions and share information.
The Open Day at QU will feature a presentation for pharmacy and biomedical students by Sidra’s Acting Chief Medical Officer, Dr Ziyad Hijazi, who share his journey about discovering his passion for medicine.
Sidra’s presence at WCMC-Q’s ‘Medicine Unlimited’ and the UCQ event aims to introduce students to diverse career paths open to those interested in joining the organisation. Sidra’s simulation team will be on hand at the ‘Medicine Unlimited’  where students will have an opportunity to try some of its world-class simulation equipment.
“We are committed to engaging with the student community at events hosted by schools and universities.
“Sidra-sponsored students and trainees have the opportunity to become part of a team of talented, world-leading professionals working to make a lasting contribution in the field of healthcare, learning, and research in Qatar and beyond.
“We encourage students to come to our booths and attend our presentations to learn more about training and scholarship opportunities at Sidra,” said Dr Eiman Al Ansari, Director, National Development,  Sidra.
