Doha: Ideal Indian School (IIS) celebrated Qatar National Day (QND) in a grand manner with various activities. 

In his keynote address, IIS Director and Principal Syed Shoukath Ali congratulated Qatar government and the people on the occasion. 

He commended the vision of Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Father Amir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and the Qatar government, which helped build a modern and advanced state to meet the aspirations and hopes of the people. Ali said that the National Day celebrations unite the school in fostering Qatari pride and national identity among students. 

Students from Kindergarten, Junior, Girls’ and Boys’ sections staged colourful programme depicting the rich cultural heritage of Qatar. 

The programme started with a prayer by Khuzaima Kasim. Omniya Haider and Abdul Aziz Khan expressed their love and fondness for Qatar in their Arabic and English speeches respectively. 

Assistant head girl Hanin Shamsheer welcomed the gathering and assistant head boy Ibrahim Ahmed proposed vote of thanks. Sneha Ann Mathew and Aman Hashim hosted the event.

A Qatar corner, where Qatari craft and artwork prepared by students of Girls Section were displayed, was inaugurated by Principal Syed Shoukath Ali on the occasion.
