DOHA: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday endorsed a decision of the Cabinet (No. 3 of 2014) amending some provisions of Decision No. 32 of 2012 to set up a committee to monitor stocks and prices of basic construction materials.
The Committee for Monitoring Stocks and Prices of Basic Construction Materials’ will function under the Ministry of Economy and Commerce.
Two reprehensive from the ministry will be appointed as chairman and vice-chairman of the committee. It will have representatives from the Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning, the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistic, the general secretariat of the supreme committee for the projects and heritage, Kahramaa, Ashghal, Qatar Chamber and Qatar Primary Materials Company as members.
The Ministry of Economy and Commerce will issue a decision to nominate the chairman, vice- chairman and members.
Doha: The Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani yesterday held separate meetings with the US Ambassador Susan Ziadeh and Croatian Ambassador Tomislav Bosnjak and discussed cooperation.
Doha: The Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage H E Dr Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al Kuwari left for Madinah for the 8th Islamic Conference of Culture Ministers of the Organization of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization from today. The four-day conference will discuss issues relating to heritage and culture in the member countries. It will also include a round-table on the promotion of cultural rights in the Islamic world to serve dialogue, peace and development and a report of the ISESCO Director General on implementation of an information and communication technologies strategy for the Islamic world.
Doha: The Advisory Council yesterday held its weekly session under the Deputy Speaker Issa bin Rabiah Al Kuwari. A memorandum by the Cabinet General Secretariat on a recommendation by the council on the unification of the start date of the scholastic year and vacation of schools and Qatar University was discussed.
