Doha: Qatar Airways made its presence felt at this year’s Bahrain International Air Show by displaying one of its Boeing 787 aircraft.
Addressing the media during the show, Qatar Airways CEO Akbar Al Baker reinforced the airline’s long-term commitment to growth with continued investment in new aircraft, new routes and this year’s opening of the Hamad International Airport in Doha.
Held every year under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the show attracted leading aviation industry companies from the region and around the world.
The three-day event, which concluded last weekend at Sakhir Air Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, witnessed huge gathering of trade, media and public visitors.
Dignitaries from Qatar who attended include the Minister of Transport H E Jassim Seif Ahmed Al Sulaiti and the Chairman of Qatar Civil Aviation Authority, Abdul Aziz Al Noaimi,.
Qatar Airways has seen rapid growth in just 17 years of operations.
It is currently flying a modern fleet of 129 aircraft to 134 key business and leisure destinations across Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific and The Americas.
