DOHA: The Korean Embassy is planning to organise cultural events in Katara in celebration of 40-year of diplomatic relations between Qatar and Korea.
The events are set to strengthen cultural exchange between the two parties in the cultural side.
During his recent visit to Katara, Korean Ambassador Chung Keejong expressed keenness to organise cultural events to be hosted by Katara. A kite festival to be held on April 18 and 19 beside will be among these events.
The Ambassador said Korea has been keen to further reinforce cooperation with Qatar in various fields including culture. He lauded the vital role Katara plays in enriching the cultural scene of the country.
He appreciated the diversity of cultural events and activities being organized in Katara as a platform where people from various cultures come together.
Katara General Manager Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti said: “We are delighted in Katara to be a beacon of culture. We are constantly working to connect different cultures and open doors to different initiatives hosting cultural events and facilitating to strengthen cultural relations between different countries.”
He said the Korean Cultural Week which Katara hosted had been popular and accepted by the public as many people found the Week an opportunity to explore and know the Korean culture.
