DOHA: Single workers living in labour camps and visitors to the country staying in hotels and hotel apartments will be covered during the two-day mid-term population census to be conducted on April 20 and 21.
About a million people in families and 1.2 million single workers are to be covered in the interim census, which is being carried out to assess the requirement for public facilities such as hospitals and health centres, schools and roads.
Some 260 researchers will fan out in the eight municipal areas of the country to collect data, including on amenities in buildings, both residential and commercial.
The outcome of the census will be made public in July this year on the website of the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics.
Modern methodology of data collection will be used, so time and costs will be saved and accuracy will be guaranteed. Fertility, mortality, internal and international migration of people, education, agriculture and economy will also be covered in the census.
