DOHA: Award-winning Hamburg Girls’ Choir will perform in Doha next weekend.
The choir comprises 49 girls aged between 14 and 22 and their repertoire contains German and international choir music.
The main emphasis of their work is to cultivate the singing of a-cappella music, or unaccompanied singing.
The choir was a finalist in the German Choir Competition (Deutscher Chorwettbewerb) and is one of the leading girls’ choirs in Germany.
Doha Youth Choir and American School of Doha are co-hosting the choir and will participate in workshops and concerts.
People can watch the choir in a concert on Friday at 7pm at German International School, followed by a reception.
Proceeds will equip the school’s music department with instruments for its programmes.
