Doha: The Reformatory & Penal Institutions Department held a graduation ceremony of the fifth and sixth electrical and welding workshops for inmates, in association with Qatar Red Crescent (QRC).
Brig. Muhammad Abdullah Al Ahmad, Head, Inmates’ Affairs Section, Maj. Jassim Muhammad Al Kaabi, Head, Care and  Rehabilitation Section, Lt. Adil Mirza Qasim, Warehouse Officer, and QRC representatives attended.
Brig. Al Ahmad praised efforts of the department and QRC and inmates’ keenness to train.
He said it is the right of inmates to become self-dependent through rehabilitation and care. Qatar will always support inmates at correctional institutions until they return to their families, trained in better behaviour and trades, he added.
QRC has developed a strategy to reinforce human resource in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior, and focuses on those needing care, including inmates, to enhance their role in the security and safety of the community.
