DOHA: Qatar Airways (QA) has extended its Boeing 787 Dreamliner route network to Tunisia with the launch of services to capital city Tunis.
The increase in demand in the region and QA’s commitment to the Tunisian market has resulted in the introduction of the Dreamliner on daily flights between Doha and Tunis, bringing an additional capacity of over 92 percent compared to A320 that operated on the route.
QA’s daily seat capacity to Tunisia has grown from 132 on A320 to 254 seats on 787 Dreamliner. QA is the first to commence a scheduled 787 Dreamliner service to Tunisia.
“We are proud to introduce 787 Dreamliner to Tunisia, which will not only offer an increase in capacity to the route but will also redefine inflight experience of our passengers travelling to Doha and beyond,” said QA Group Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker.
“Our 787s provide a superior experience with specially designed interiors, spacious cabins and custom-made seats in Business and Economy class. We are confident that our passengers flying to and from Tunis will luxuriate in the enhanced travel experience on board QA Dreamliner.” QA has 254 custom-made seats across its 787 Business and Economy class cabins with specially designed interiors. Business Class is configured in a 1–2–1 layout with 22 seats and Economy class has a 232 seating capacity in a 3–3–3 layout. All seats in Business class are reclinable with fully-flat beds.
QA’s 787s are the world’s first fully connected Dreamliners with wireless facilities for passengers to remain in touch with friends and colleagues through the Internet and SMS mobile texting service available across Business and Economy cabins. The 787 Dreamliners complement the ultra-luxurious customer service and experience QA promises to passengers.
Daily flights from Tunisia connect via Doha to popular business and leisure cities in QA’s global network, including Doha, Dubai, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and more, with rapid transits via Hamad International Airport in Doha.
Boeing 787 daily flight QR1399 leaves Doha at 09:30 to arrive in Tunis at 13:45 and flight QR1400 takes off from Tunis at 15:00 to arrive in Doha at 22:05.
