Doha: Maj. Gen. Abdullah Yusuf Al Mal, Adviser to the Interior Minister and Chairman of the preparatory committee for the 13th UN Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, led a delegation to Moscow to discuss preparations for the forum to be held in Doha from April 12 to 19.
The delegation separately met Ilya Rogachev, Director, Department on New Challenges and Threats, Foreign Ministry, and Igor Zubov, State Secretary and Deputy Minister of Interior, and reviewed Qatar’s logistic preparations.
They also discussed Russia’s stances on matters on the agenda of the congress, concerns in the field of crime prevention and justice, and cooperation between the delegations of Russia and Qatar, which chairs ongoing consultation rounds in Vienna to prepare draft Doha Declaration.
Meanwhile, Bulgarian Foreign Minister Daniel Mitov received an invitation from Foreign Minister H E Dr Khalid bin Mohamed Al Attiyah to attend the congress, Qatar News Agency reports.
Qatari Ambassador Mohammed bin Ali Al Nuaimi handed over the invitation during a meeting in capital Sofia.
They also discussed means of strengthening relations.
The Peninsula
