DOHA: Qatar will host International Association of Professional Congress Organisers (IAPCO) Regional Seminar on March 10-11 at Qatar National Convention Center (QNCC).
The seminar, ‘Delivering Professional Congress Organization: engaging all’ will train all those involved in Meeting Incentives Conventions and Exhibitions (MICE) industry, including professional conference organisers, destination, association, event and exhibition management companies, convention and visitor bureaus, venue operators, travel agencies, tourism entities, hotels, special venues and hotels, and international associations.
IAPCO’s education programme is regulated by IAPCO Training Academy where over 1,700 people worldwide have obtained an IAPCO seminar certificate of attendance.
Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) invites all its stakeholders from the public and private sectors to take part as it believes the seminar will provide insight into latest methods and trends in business.
QTA has stressed that the seminar is structured to suit Qatar and the Gulf for world-class knowledge, training and best practices.
It said participation is limited and deadline for applications is February 26, adding that a certificate of attendance from IAPCO will be awarded to all participants.
Hamad Al Abdan, Director, Exhibitions, QTA, said: “In line with the objectives of National Tourism Sector Strategy 2030, QTA exerts efforts to support the international meetings sector, leading to a successful and sustainable tourism industry.
“The seminar will provide tips, trends and planning, with detailed organisational and operational elements to manage international association meetings.”
It will cover project and financial planning of meetings and how to market an event using traditional and modern communication tools. The introductory session will focus on the organisation of international association meetings, providing insight into principles that can be applied to meetings. It will also highlight changes and future trends of the international association market, players and how their demand affect successful delivery of events.
A session on project planning will offer advice for those who have won bids to host conferences on where to start from and how to create the structure for such forums and how to direct teamwork to ensure full detailed implementation of the project. The Peninsula
