Doha: Placed on 11th position at the Qatar Stars League (QSL) standings, Al Kharaitiyat scored in stoppage time to shock fifth placed Umm Salal 2-1 at the Qatar SC Stadium.
Hasan Abdelfattah Mahmoud was the star for the winners with a goal in the 93rd minute as Al Kharaitiyat bounced back after conceding an early goal.
Jermie Ali Adiere gave Umm Salal the lead early by scoring the goal in eighth minute.
It took Al Kharaitiyat 54 minutes to level the score with M Sadd netting the leveler. As the game approached to an end, both the team exchanged attacks at short intervals before Mahmoud heads the all-important goal.
In other exciting game yesterday, Al Gharafa and Al Sailiya were engaged in a 3-3 draw at the Al Wakra Stadium.
Issam Jemaa scored the leveler for Al Sailiya, just two minutes before full time as he completed his brace.
The other match between Al Khor and Qatar SC also saw a draw with both teams locked 1-1 till the final whistle.
In today’s matches title-contenders Al Sadd will take on Al Arabi while Al Ahli will meet El Jaish in other match of the day. THE PENINSULA
