Nouakchott---A road accident killed 14 soldiers and injured some 20 more in western Mauritania, the military said Saturday.
The accident occurred near the town of Atar on Friday when the truck the soldiers were travelling in "turned over in a dangerous passage", according to a statement carried by the state news agency AMI .
The army of the west African desert nation airlifted the injured to a military hospital, the statement said.
