Chougule and Bukhari honoured for community services

DOHA: Two prominent Indian businessmen residing in Qatar, Hassan Chougule and MS Bukhari, were felicitated recently by four Indian social organisiations in recognition of their dedicated services to Indian expatriate community in the country.

A felicitation function was held at Hotel Radisson Blu to celebrate their achievement of ranking among 25 Global Indians Transforming the World 2017 by a book published recently by Diaspora World Media Network.

Hasan Abdul Karim Chougule is the Managing Director of Emadi Group of Companies, while Syed Muhammad Sabih Bukhari is the Managing Director of Satco Group. They are running other businesses and schools and patronise a number of Indian social orgnaisations in Qatar and abroad. 

The book “25 Global Indians Transforming the World 2017” is an annual publication that profiles high achievers. 

Felicitation function was attended by Indian Ambassador, P Kumaran and Deepa Gopalan Wadhwa, former Indian Ambassador to Qatar. 

Presidents of all four apex bodies affiliated to Indian Embassy were present along with school presidents and principles, Indian community leaders; Mohd Habibun Nabi and Nadeem Mahir.

The function was hosted by AMU Alumni Association-Qatar, Anjuman Muhibban Urdu Hind Qatar, Bhopal Association Qatar and World Bihar Organisation.

“I have completed about one and a half year and I have worked very closely with both. I have benefitted a lot from their detailed advices in the matters related to the community,” said P Kumaran, Indian Ambassador.  

Chougle and Bukhari are closely involved in all matters related to these organisisations. Apart from being successful entrepreneurs they made generous contributions to the community causes and playing active roles in holding Mushaira and other cultural programme.

“This kind of recognition to the members of the community will encourage more people to join this list of eminent Indians who have changed the world,” said Deepa Gopalan Wadhwa, former Indian ambassador to Qatar while addressing the function. She said that Hassan Chougule and M S Bukhari were pillars of her support during her tenure in Qatar. 

She said that Chougule gave her very useful advises and he was always there telling her the history of the community. “Similarly Bukhari, he came to me as a friend and offered his service to the embassy and Indian community.” 

She said that they have a lot of interests not only in business but in other areas as well. They chose important area-  education- which is very important to achieve success in the life. So they decided to be educationists and built schools for the children of Indian community.

Speaking with The Peninsula on the sidelines of the function, Hassan Chougule and M S Bukhari said that the new honour is an addition to the awards they received previously increasing the expectation of people from them.

The duo said that they will be doing their best in serving Indian expatriate community in Qatar and their doors are always open for every individual.
