Doha: Jumbo Electronics celebrated the National Sport Day at the Al Fereej Sports Complex, Al Wukair. The day marked the convergence of all Jumbo employees across departments, functions and cadre to participate in the sporting activities organised by the company.
Being a national holiday it saw a large turnout of around 500 employees on the grounds to participate in various sporting activities. It was a day that blurred the hierarchal lines within the organisation to promote sportsmanship.
Teams from various departments competed in various matches of cricket, football, volleyball, basketball, tug-of-war, relay, carom, chess, table tennis & arm wrestling.
Special fun games were also organised for all employees to participate in. Winning teams received a trophy and cash awards. Special individual trophies were also awarded for man of the series and other recognitions.

The National Sports Day provided a good break from the mundane corporate culture and for employees to show case their skills in sports they love. Employees ended the day with a promise to perform even better next year. Some also added that they would continue practicing regular-ly through the year and not limit sporting activities to the National Sports Day only.
