Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday sent a cable of congratulations to Tunisian President Mohamed Moncef Marzouki on the occasion of the anniversary his country’s Independence Day.
The Prime Minister and Minister of Interior H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani also sent a similar cable to Tunisian president.
Paris: French President Francois Hollande met here yesterday at the Elysee Palace with Qatar’s Minister of State for Defence Affairs H E Major General Hamad bin Ali Al Attiyah, who is currently visiting France. Al Attiyah conveyed greetings of the Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to the French President and his wishes for further progress and prosperity.
President Hollande asked the minister to convey his greetings to the Emir and his wishes of further progress and development.
Discussions dealt with bilateral relations and ways of enhancing them in various fields, as well as issues of common concern.
Doha: Malta’s Minister of Economy, investment and small Business Dr Christian Cardona and a delegation of Maltese businessmen met here yesterday with representatives of the Qatari private sector to explore investment opportunities and increase trade exchanges.
