Plan to merge Police College, training institute into academy

DOHA: Brigadier Mohamed Thani Al Almadhikha, Director, Building Affairs Department, Ministry of Interior, said there is a plan to merge the Police College and the Police Training Institute into one academy, Al Raya reports. 
The department will soon invite tenders for the project and their deadline will be May 4. 
Work on the project will start within four months and scheduled to be completed in two years.
Brigadier Al Almadhikha said the total area of the college is one  million square meters and the building area 225,000sqm, with a capacity to  accommodate 1,250 candidates.
The project includes halls for training and computers and four multi-storey buildings with having 90 teaching halls. 
Each hall can accommodate 50 students. It also has a library near education complex. 
The project also includes four accommodation buildings with a capacity of 200 cadres each.
Each residential building has a training field and the ground floor has four dining halls. 
Each hall has a capacity to accommodate 200 candidates. 
The buildings have a restaurant which can accommodate 800 candidates beside a commercial centre to meet the requirements of candidates. The administrative building of the college includes three storeys. The college has training areas and sports facility complex with many halls. 
There are also halls for celebrations and Olympic complex for swimming and physical education. 
The college has shooting and equestrian fields and a building for transportation. 
All buildings are surrounded by a wall with CCTV cameras installed.
